About Kashif
Kashif has well over a decade of experience in a wide range of corporate/commercial matters. He began private practice in 2011 with a boutique business law firm in downtown Vancouver where he became a partner. He has a broad business practice with extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, private mergers & acquisitions, commercial real estate, and telecommunications.
Transaction Experience
- Counsel for a BC real estate investment firm in $100 million private placement transaction.
- BC counsel for a major telecommunications company on acquisition & sale of various properties and the management of its portfolio of land interests.
- Counsel for various companies on asset and share transactions, corporate re-organizations, and strategic ventures.
- Counsel for a large BC medical services provider to finance multi-million dollar healthcare facility and negotiate long-term lease.
- Advising various Boards and CEOs on corporate governance including board & officer duties, shareholder matters, and compliance & disclosure issues.
- Counsel to BC property management company on acquisition & sale of real property and the leasing of major commercial assets.
- Advising corporate clients on joint ventures and partnerships, executive employment, financings, commercial leases, and licensing.
- Counsel for a high-tech medical company in spin-off asset transaction, debt disposition, and resolution of contentious shareholder dispute.
- Counsel to BC housing developer on the restructuring of its corporate affairs and re-organization of Board governance.
- BC counsel for an Alberta energy company on management of its petroleum land interests and joint venture projects.
Education & Community Involvement
Kashif obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan and his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Regina. He was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 2011.
He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and he is regularly involved in pro bono work for community organizations and legal clinics. Kashif has also provided expert testimony to parliamentary committees on legal and human rights issues.
